Burnt Mills Highballers – The high-energy, Burnt Mills Highballers return to kick off the season with Old Time music and an endless catalog of Appalachian fiddle tunes, and a bluegrass standard or two. Join the Friends of the Locktown Stone Church and Delaware Township Environmental Commission in keeping our community clean on Saturday, May 10. We will meet at the church at 9:00 am. Each group will have at least one chaperone. Participants will pick up litter along roadsides of Locktown following route maps. All participants will be provided with gloves, garbage bags, an official Litter Clean Up Day t-shirt, drawstring bag, and a breakfast snack. Bring your own water bottle and dress appropriately in long pants and sturdy shoes. Children under 11 must be accompanied by a parent. Litter Clean Up Day is sponsored by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection – Clean Communities Program. This community effort not only helps keep our roadways clean, it will also help raise funds for the ongoing maintenance and support of the historic Locktown Stone Church, courtesy of the program. Snehesh Nag, a Hindustani classical sitarist and educator joins tabla player, Mallar Goswami, to bring the music of India to Locktown’s stone walls. With decades of experience, the award-winning musicians will uplift your spirit with their magical rhythm and strings. What’s not to love about a band that spontaneously gets out on their Stockton porch and plays for anyone who cares to listen? With plenty of talent to boot? Reminiscent of the street bands in New Orleans in the old days when musicians like Louis Armstrong were all the rage, flaming cornet licks from the bluesy clubs in Chicago, and 1920’s Tin Pan Alley love songs and novelty tunes from a time when every town had a dance hall and every big hotel had a grand ballroom. This is the real deal: Mariachi Sones de mi Tierra, translated as, “mariachi songs of my land”, was founded as a group in 2019 by director, Yesid Villabon, a long-time music industry veteran. They bring a top-notch vocal and instrumental performance characterized by the joy and youthful spirit in each of their songs.

Na’Bodach – These ‘not old men’ are very much alive and well – and thank goodness for that. The much-loved group returns with their non-traditional music of the British Isles, using both acoustic and electric instruments and draws on influences as diverse as Funk, Progressive Rock, Folk, Blues and Classical. Na’Bodach was formed in 1998 by three friends who recognized songs known by Irish and Scottish soldiers and the music as it evolved to America, adapting them to modern Instrumentation and musical forms.
